30 Days of Thanks – 10
Today I am grateful for the many experiences I have had in my journey as a business owner. The things I have learned and done in the last couple of years were not even on my radar when I worked for someone else. I didn’t know this world existed, these job descriptions, these software products, and all these amazing people. It never occurred to me that work could be this fun. Every day is full of amazing potential and I want to share that with everyone I know. If you are within ear shot, you’ve probably heard me “gush” about what how great my life is and how much I love what I do.
Thank you, if you are someone I have met in the last couple of years! Thanks for sharing this time, and your knowledge, support and expertise with me.

I am very thankful about just how powerful words can be. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the power behind my own words. Because we are created in God’s image and in His own likeness our words have creative power. Just like God, our words can heal, destroy and change things forever. When God said, “Let there be light”. There was light, I doubt He gets up every morning to say it again and again. Many years ago when I was going though a very difficult time in my life, I learned that the power of the promise was in the promise itself. That was so profound then and over a decade later the simplicity of this truth still amazes me.
Today I listened to the words of the Commander In Chief as he addressed the families and comrades of those who lost their lives at Forthood in Texas. As the cameras panned the crowd I saw expressions of sadness, pain and bewilderment on the faces of many mourners. I knew his words meant so much to so many. They could help to bring the nation together in a tough time or comfort a woman who’s pain wouldn’t allow her to think beyond the moment for fear that her beloved was gone. Oh what a great task he had as he delivered that speech today. What a great task we have every time we open our mouths to speak. We really don’t know what our words may mean to someone else.
I can remember being so afraid of public speaking. I’d see others who seemed to be a pro at it and only hoped that one day I’d be able to open my mouth without choking on every other word. God put in my heart such a desire for public speaking that I knew the one thing that I feared the most I’d have to fight hard with all I had to overcome it. This is probably the single most significant thing that caused me to realize that my passion and drive were both there for a purpose. His purpose.
While I’m still trying to figure it all out I realize God tells us things on a need to know basis. As we each come to terms with what our purpose is, its imperative to know and realize something. Our passions and desires are not just a haphazard chance of fate but it’s part of the big picture in this wonderful journey we call life.
Follow your passion, let it gently guide you and you’ll also find yourself chasing after wisdom and His plan for your life. I’m thankful that God has an amazing plan for each of our lives. He also gave us passion to help excel us forward and find true happiness.
